Cordula Rau was born in 18th july 1951, In Heide a small town in the north germany. Actually her parents were very lucky that they had got such a cute girl with great ambition for her life she was very curious, helpful and brave woman with dark hair, big eyes and ever smiling faceslnce her childhood she loved nature and all living being whenever she saw any sick or injured being she used to take them home on trolley and cared them. She stated schooling in 1957 and learnt latin, english and french languges. She studied nursing in 1969 and passed in 1972. She worked as a nurse in different departments of hospital. She wanted to help more and more people. She studied intensive care and surgery nurse from hospital and Switzerland. In wildeshausen hospital she worked as anurse till 1983. During her job she bought her own wooden house in sandkurg. willing to work abroad in october 1984 she joined christoffel blind mission CBR and went England, India later she came in Nepal at Chaudhary Eye Hospital Lahan Siraha. Her Father Adolf Rau visited Nepal many times. They both became funding Members of one world group in wardenburg, germany.
It was about 2045 B.S when the chairman of this Siraha Assocation of deaf Ganga Ram and chief contributor Cordula Rau were working in Chaudhary eye hospital lahan. They had well friendship between them. Suddenly Ganga Ram lost his hearing capacity. Hearing this Cordula inspired him to work for welfare of deaf people. She continuously helped us physically, mentally and financially. We established Siraha deaf Association in 2053 B.S she suggested us to establish deaf school for deaf children. She financiall suported us to buy land, construct building, hostel building, plantion, kitchen building toilets and bathrooms, kitchen garden, fruit garden, fish farming, cow farming, digging pound, cow dung gas plant, solar system, water drainage, cow shed etc. She also called Ganga Ram to germany and provided him some experiences and suggetions. Cordula’s dream to help the people became true and fruitful. Her ideas and thoughts will be guidlines for us. Eventhough she is physically died she will be mentally in our heart and memories. To honour her contribution and keep her in our meomry we are going to name the first building ‘’Cordula Raw Memorial Building”. Her contributions are incomparble and valueable for Siraha Association of the deaf Siraha Nepal.
